Village Financial Services Charity Update – Making a Difference in 2026
At Village Financial Services, supporting our local community has always been at the heart of what we do. As trusted mortgage advisors based in Tilehurst, we believe that giving back is just as important as helping our clients achieve their financial goals.
So far this year, we’ve been proud to support several fantastic charities and community initiatives, and we’d like to thank everyone who has helped us make a positive impact.
Craig’s 15,000ft Charity Skydive for The Tomorrow Project
On 22nd May, our Director, Craig Power, took on an incredible challenge by completing a charity skydive in support of Harmless & The Tomorrow Project, a charity dedicated to suicide prevention and supporting people affected by suicide.
Thanks to the generosity of our clients, friends, family and local community, Craig and his friends raised over £3,000 for this vital cause. Every donation will help the charity continue providing life-changing support to those who need it most.
A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored Craig and helped make the fundraiser such a success.
Supporting Swings & Smiles
In May, we were also delighted to support the Swings & Smiles Annual Charity Golf Day.
The event brought together local businesses and supporters for a fantastic day of fundraising, raising an incredible £7,286. Swings & Smiles provides invaluable support for children with special needs and their families, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping them continue their amazing work.
Our Annual Christmas Charity Draw
One of our favourite traditions at Village Financial Services is our Annual Christmas Charity Draw.
Each Christmas, we donate £100 to 10 different charities, giving our clients the opportunity to nominate causes that are close to their hearts. It’s our way of spreading a little festive cheer while supporting organisations doing incredible work in our communities.
Last Christmas, £100 donations were made to:
- No5 Young People’s Counselling Service
- Calcot Schools
- Royal Berkshire NHS Trust
- Dementia Research
- Max’s Trust
- Samaritans (Basingstoke Branch)
- Park Lane Primary School
- Didcot Primary Academy
- Institute of Cancer Research
- Berkshire Vision
We’re already looking forward to this year’s draw and hearing about more deserving charities from our clients.
